For those that know me and are interested my new shoes.co.uk web site is launched on August 15th so its a bit of a nailbiter this month! Its going to stock, Miss Sixty, Base London, Fornarina, Jeffrey West Black Line, Bronx, Doc Martens, Rocket Dog, Caterpillar, Ikon Original, Blu, Blink, E-motion, Destroy amongst many other brands. Campaign for Alternative headgear (CAH) also known as the Campaign against American Headgear, (CAAH), well its my personal stand against sodding baseball caps which I detest, in fact I detest American wear all together, so this is the start.
I started this with Ed at Hyde Park, watching the WHO, we both spent the day, (and most of the night in Soho!) in Vietnamese Helmets!, here are the pictures :O)
The Story of Texas.
I always quite fancied Charlene Spiteri.......until July 1st 2006. Texas were playing at the Roger Waters event in the afternoon. England were playing and the match was screened at the back of the arena area. Ms Spiteri, asked 'Am I disturbing yoooz?' to which a few fans threw bottles of water at her!, this was DURING the penalties!
She then accused the crowd of being 'Neanderthals'. Admittedly 3/4 of the crowd had their back to the stage watching the footie but there was no need for that!
Below - Enjoying the sunshine at the Who concert in Hyde Park - London Calling. We also saw Roger Waters, The Zutons, Razorlight, Primal Scream and the poor old Lightening Seeds who probably would have played Three Lions, had England not got kicked out of the World Cup that very afternoon.

Christ on a bike!, April has finished so quickly and I have not done my Vat!!!!!, Two new sites I have launched recently, www.sleepynotes.com which uses a simple form system so that you can send yourself an email when you are wandering around the house at night unable to sleep, and www.footwear.co.uk which is an updated database version of my 'other' site. This is a clever little search engine written in php which allows shoe shoppers to search for shoe shops by brand, good eh? :O)
Aren't the police wonderful?!, They put yellow cameras everywhere to stop people speeding!, result?, for the first time in 27 years of driving I have no points on my licence!, easy isn't it?, you drive as fast as you want, within reason of course as we don't want to kill anyone!, then you slow down at the speed camera, which is easy in my case as I have a smartnav system thet tell sme where all the cameras are.
There are no police left on the roads so really you can pretty well get anywhere as fast as you like. Even if you do get a speeding fine who really cares as its so infrequent it doesn't matter. And when you do get caught doing over 100 you just stand up in court and tell them they didn't follow the right procedure and you are off.
Or you could get this clever man to get you off but that would cost a lot of money!, tell you what I'll retrain and you can hire me......... for £2000 a case lol!

On the subject of Ipods and putting videos on them using either Quicktime pro with a registration key or using pqdvd with their code, you can now watch your Ipod videos on the television with their new AV kit. It just hooks up from the bottom of the Ipod to the TV in sockets, pretty cool eh?. Go here to buy them from the Apple store. Or hit the button below:
I went to Abersoch today and it was closed. It took about three hours!, and that was from South Manchester which means I could have gone to London in less time! We stopped in thc entre and my daughter wanted a pee. The only toilets in Abersoch were locked!
There was nothing there apart from two pubs and a grubby beach so we came home. I guess its much nicer in the summer. We stopped at Traeth which was much nicer, it was also called Aber something but I gorget, its easy to forget all these Welsh names.

OK! I found a better way but still not free, I'm still searching for a free option. Well go to http://www.pqdvd.com/dvd-to-ipod-video-converter.html and don't be scared by it. You can download a free like, trial version but it will only convert 10 mintues for free which is ok for the odd music vid that you might have on DVD but if you want to convert a whole film then you need to pay. It cost me $34.95 or about 24 quid. I was happy to pay that to get this great program.
It rips from a dvd in about 1/2 hour and its on you Ipod in 2 minutes, amazing!
I now have Withnail & I, Kill Bill 1 and 2 and various other films and videos on my Ipod. And if anyone says you won't use it then bolloc*s!, I watched Kill Bill 2 the other night and its fantastic on Ipob, you listen to the soundtrack which is FM quality and watch the video which is crystal clear.

Converting videos so that they will
play on your Ipod.
I have been having some trouble playing any videos on my Ipod so this is my experience and here are some hints about getting them converted to the right format so that they will play.
Firstly it is quite clear from how complicated it is that Apple do not want you to play any other videos on your iPod apart from the ones downloaded from Itunes. As this is effectively illegal through restrictive pratices I believe, they have provided a way to view any recorded video in any format so that you can view it, but they do not make this process very easy.
Here is a step by step guide to doing it avoiding a host of traps they have put in your way.
1. An Ipod will only play vidoes that are in Ipod (320x240) format you cannot play any other!
2. Firstly go to http://www.apple.com/uk/quicktime/win.html and download the latest version of Quicktime that is version 7.0.3
4. Then go here and Buy a Key. You must first open an account with the store. I bought my key on the 18th December and it took until the 7th January before I could find it in my account. I emailed them and was told that I had to contact the UK side but I could not find a contact email address. I waited patiently and eventually it turned up in my account. You cannot get videos on to an Ipod without buying a key!
5. They will send you an email that should contain the key. It looks a bit like a Windows activation key similar to this: CK64-6J5U-AV22-KCED-P5VM (Note it IS NOT this)
6. Then open Quicktime by going through your control panel and finding the Quicktime logo. (Start>Settings>Control Panel), Go to "file" and then registration, or if you just hit one of the greyed out 'Pro' buttons it will give you a box to fill in, Name, Organisation and Registration Key.
7. Be sure to check your registered name in the account section of the STORE HERE on the website. Click on Review "your account" and log in using your email address and password that you set your account up with.
8. Click on "Downloadeable Software Purchases" Under Orders and MAKE SURE that you copy the "Registered Name" correctly!, it is best to copy and paste this into the box on the registration page. This is not your name, it is the registered name. Mine was my name with 'Mr' after it!, yes after it, so DON'T ASSUME! anything or your Quicktime pro will not register!
9. Then copy and paste the key in to the registration box.
The above is covered briefly Here by Apple but it is not specific enough and my registration box looked different.
10. You are then ready to start. The first thing you will notice is that your Quicktime now does not look any different from the normal menus in Quicktime and if you go to Help>About It does not say that it is Quicktime Pro.
11. You do not open a file and then save it as a Quicktime file as this will not work. You need to open the video you want to convert and then File>Export as a Ipod (320x240) file. It will take about an hour to convert a 25meg file so they do not make it quick! or Easy!

12. You save it in your Itunes video file or just on your Desktop from where you can drag it in to Itunes.
13. Then open Itunes go to Videos and drag and drop the video you have converted on to your Ipod.
